My Fiancé and I were popping in and visiting Portland for a night and I was lucky enough to snag an appointment with DJ Hickey! She’s spectacular. Not only did she listen to what my goal was, but also explained the process, how to achieve that goal and EDUCATED me. I went in with hair color that I’d recently gotten and was unhappy with and she completely transformed it. She made me feel comfortable and we had great conversation. I’lll definitely consider driving 5.5 hrs from MA for another appointment.

I would consider myself a harsh critic of hair stylists. Well today ended my search. I met Justin today. Justin knew from the minute I sat in the chair, what would look best on me, and it was exactly what I had wanted. Wanting is one thing, but actually achieving it is another. He did achieve it fully. I have the best haircut that I have had in a very long time. Justin is professional, and you can tell he has mastered the craft!! Thank you. I will definitely be back!

I got my first haircut with Justin in preparation for a work trip and I was so impressed with the experience for a variety of different reasons. When I walked in, Justin was cutting another person's hair. He took the time to greet me and the way in which he did made me feel instantly welcome. I enjoyed a nice window seat looking out on Fore Street below while I waited. When it came time for my haircut, Justin was helpful in offering some styling tips. I appreciated the focus and attention he brings to his work. I was very happy with the results and will look forward to returning in the future when I am in Portland!

I’ve had my haircut by Justin 2 times now, both 6 years apart. When I was younger I was lucky enough to get one of my favorite haircuts ever — one Justin gave me at the age of 15! I spent a while going to cheap salons in high school and college but when I decided it was time for a more consistent barber — I immediately thought of my perfect haircut I had gotten so long ago. Not only is Justin incredible at the hands-on process, he is careful to make sure you are confident from the beginning to end of your appointment. I had complete trust in him the whole time and left with an amazing haircut, I get compliments on it every day. I can’t recommend Ethan Hunter Salon enough!

Justin is hands-down the best barber in Portland, ME! He's been cutting my hair for the last 2 years or so, and the cut is excellent and consistent every time, and gets me compliments without doubt. Treat yourself and look no further - these guys are the real deal.
